3 TIPS FOR PORTRAITS
1.Play With Backgrounds
The person in your portrait is the main point of interest – however sometimes when you place them into different contexts with different backgrounds you can dramatically alter the mood in a shot.
2.Get Closer
The most common mistake made by photographers is that they are not physically close enough to their subjects. In some cases this means that the center of interest—the subject—is just a speck, too small to have any impact. Even when it is big enough to be decipherable, it usually carries little meaning. Viewers can sense when a subject is small because it was supposed to be and when it's small because the photographer was too shy to get close.Don't be shy. If you approach people in the right way, they'll usually be happy to have their picture made. It's up to you to break the ice and get them to cooperate. Joke around with them. Tell them why you want to make the picture. Practice with people you know so that you are comfortable; people can sense when you aren't.
3. Introduce Movement
by making your subject move-by keeping your subject still but having an element in the scene around them move-by moving your camera (or it’s lens to achieve a zoom burst)

3 TYPES OF PORTRAITS
1.environmental portrait:
I like these 2 photo because i think that you can pretty much make up your own story on what you think this old man is doing and how is felling based on where he is and how he looks.

2.photography self portrait
I liked these 2 photos because they are not what your normal self portrait might be. i also like them because i think that the photographers thought out of the box in order to take these photos.

3.casual portrait
I like both of these photos because i think that the basic backgrounds allow someone who is looking at the photo to capture the main idea of the picture.
